Question And Answer

Question And Answer Time!

Hey guys! So I made a post on Instagram asking you to ask me questions about whatever you'd like, so I'm going to answer them :)
Ps, some of them may be 'silly' but that's because they're from friends/ family and I wanted to include them as it's fun!

Below my answers I will have the name of the person who asked! :D

1. How much money do you spend on make up, clothes and food weekly?

I don't pay for my food at home, my parents buy that for me, but I eat out almost everyday and go to restaurants 1-2 times a week, so I spend around £40 a week on food. I spend around £15 a week on make up and £30 a week on clothes. Forever spending *cries*

2. What's your daily face cleansing routing?

I use whatever is available in my bathroom to wash my face. We always have cleansers and exfoliators. My favourite exfoliator is 'Ocean Salt' by Lush and favourite cleanser is the No7 beautiful skin one. Then I moisturise my skin with the No7 Beautiful Skin moisturiser for normal/oily skin. At night I use the Simple moisturising night cream. I use the Benefit Its Potent eye cream too. I always use a lip balm in the morning and night. For a weekly face mask I use the Aztec Indian healing clay mask.

3. Who is your favourite YouTuber and blogger?

The only blog I read is Habiba's who is LifeLongPercussion and I love her blog and she's an amazing person. I have SO many YouTubers that I love so it's hard but probably Dulce Candy!

4. Who's your favourite cousin?

You of couse, Arousa
        Instagram: arousaaa

5. Who do you love most? Mum or dad? Choose one

Oh my. You can't make me do this :( I get on more with my mum, she's like a best friend and my dad is just amazing. He does everything for me and our family and I respect him so much. I can't chooooseeee!!!

6. Do you have any regrets?

I don't have any big regrets, I do wish I focused more in school/ college though. I am at university and I am happy where I am and I am doing well, but I could have got much better grades if I wasn't such a naughty school kid haha! I don't believe in regrets much though, unless it's to do with education. Like I don't believe in regretting relationships/ friendships as it was something you wanted at that time.

7. If you could change something about your life right now, what would it be?

Ummm, I really don't know. There's nothing I would change, but I would not be living in Birmingham or England if I could. I'd be living in the USA..... I wish...

8. What Lush products are good?

There are a lot of great Lush products and it really depends on what you are into and what your skin type is like. Some of my favourites are: Ocean salt, which is an amazing exfoliator for the face. Rub Rub Rub is another favourite of mine which is the best body exfoliator I have ever tried. It makes your skin sooo soft. Their bath bombs are all amazing, but I prefer the bubble bars as you can use them a few times instead of once. The lip scrubs are also really good, bubblegum is my favourite. Their foundation is also pretty good. I also really like their tea tree toner water, grease lightening, and their foot scrub which comes in the shape of a foot and I can't remember the name of it.

9. Who's your favourite oldest mate?

10. What's your ideal wedding? What do you think of an overly extravagant wedding? Describe dream wedding?

My ideal wedding would be to have my sexy husband next to me, sweating at how hot I look. LOL just kidding.. My ideal wedding would be to have all my family and friends there, not too big and flashy.. not too big, not much money spent, but an amazing wedding that people are wowed by :) I think overly extravagant weddings are stupid, a waste of money and haram. Everyone wants a big lovely wedding, but there is a limit and you shouldn't go over the top just to impress people. You should only please your god. There shouldn't be people dancing like crazy idiots, and there should not be hundreds of thousands of pounds spent. There shouldn't be 10 course meals. There are people dying in the world, what is the need to basically throw money away?

My dream wedding? I'd be in a beautiful white Asian suit. Not too much jewellery. I'd be marrying someone I am in love with. I'd have all my friends and family there and the day would be amazing. Then we'd fly off to the Caribbean.

26. Most embarrassing moment?

About two years ago I was on the bus and the stop came for me to get off. I was sitting at the bottom of the bus at the front. I got up to go to the front to get off. Also at the back was a full row of young guys with beards/ mosque hats/ abayas etc. I got up and moved forward and the driver hit the brakes and I flew into one of the guys' lap!!!! I was so shocked that I sat in his lap for like 15 seconds before getting up. I was sooo embarrassed and it was so awkward.

My Favourite Drugstore Foundations

My favourite foundations (drugstore)

Hey guys! So I wanted to do a blogpost on my favourite lower end foundations as I know many of you would be interested in this. I have tried so many foundations, from high end to lower end and can honestly say I sometimes prefer the cheaper alternatives.
Here are 8 of my favourites that work well for me and are my favourites. We all have different skin types so these might not work for everyone.

Here are a few facts about my skin tone so you can have a rough idea whether or not they will work for you.
Skin type: normal
Skin colour: light
Undertone: yellow
Skin problems: I have a small section of larger pores on my cheeks on either side of my nose

1. elf Flawless Finish Foundation
Shade: sand

I have a full review of this foundation on my blog so I won't go into detail but this is my absolute favourite foundation at the moment. It makes my skin look flawless, and blends very nicely into the skin. The foundation has such a small price tag, but works amazingly. This is very comparable to foundations from Mac. This foundation has a yellow undertone which I love as I have yellow under toned skin. I have received compliments from total strangers when wearing this foundation and have been asked what foundation I wear, so that is another bonus ;)

Coverage: medium/ full
Lasting power: very long
Price: £6.75

2. Maxfactor 3 in 1 Face Finity All Day Flawless
Shade: Natural

This is a really good foundation. It has very good coverage and lasts very long too. The foundation is a 3 in 1, so it's great for people who like to save time in the mornings. It is a primer, concealer and foundation all in one so you know the coverage will be very good on it. The only downside to this product is it has a pink undertone and I am yellow under toned. The packaging on this foundation is very nice, but it is also a bit bulky so not not the best for travelling with. The foundation is not extremely matte which I would have expected as it is full coverage, so I was impressed as I would hate for it to make me look cakey. I apply this foundation with a buffing brush and it gives me a very airbrushed finish. This foundation really does last all day. I never wear my foundation for longer than 7-8 hours, and I never touch up my base make up, but it still looks great even hours later.

Coverage: full
Lasting power: all day
Price: £11.99

3. Avon Extra Lasting Liquid Foundation
Shade: Nude

This is a very thick foundation with very good coverage. It comes in a 30ml glass bottle which is the standard size for a foundation. The foundation blends well although it is very orange on my skin. The foundation is also very stick which I cannot stand as it makes me want to pull my face off. I just need to apply powder over the foundation which sorts the 'sticky' feeling out though so it does not bother me too much. The foundation is also quite pink undertones and I am a yellow undertone so it only works on me if I mix it with another foundation. What I love about tis foundation though, and why it is is my favourites is, it lasts so long, and when I mix it in with any light coverage foundation, it makes it full coverage.

Coverage: full
Lasting power: all day
Price: £12

4. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum
Shade: 52

This is another one of my all time favourite foundations. This is a gel foundation which claims to last for 16 hours. I do not agree with this statement. It also claims to boost radiance and give you an 'undetectable even finish'. I completely agree with this statement as this foundation makes me look very dewy and it gives my skin a flawless, healthy appearance. The foundation smells very nice. It has a fruity smell to it which I find quite pleasant, although if you cannot stand fragrances in your foundation this is not for you. The foundation does not feel like a 'gel' at all. It feels like a regular foundation to me. I have it in the shade 52 which is the second lightest shade and it is a very good match for my skin. I will mix this in with my Benefit Hello Flawless foundation if I want extra coverage as this is pretty light. I use my Real Techniques buffing brush to apply the foundation to my skin, and it gives me a light coverage. The coverage is similar to that of a BB Cream, so this is not for someone who has acne or problematic skin.

Coverage: light
Lasting power: average
Price: £10.99

5. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
Shade: 125

Maybelline is one of my favourite make up brands at the drugstore so I knew this would be a great foundation. I love the whole line of Fit Me products, and the foundation is definitely a winner. This foundation has an amazing price, flawless coverage, and great  lasting power. What more could you ask for? This foundation is especially good for people with oily skin as it is not a dewy foundation. The foundation is matte, but you can still see your skin through it and it does not feel like another layer on your face. The foundation blends beautifully into the skin lasts throughout the day on me. I apply it to the skin with my Real Techniques buffing brush or stippling brush and find both work very well. With all the foundations I use, 1 pump is enough for my whole face, and this is the case with this foundation too.

Coverage: medium
Lasting power: all day
Price: £7.99

6. Revlon Photo ready Compact Make Up Foundation
Shade: 200 Natural Beige

This foundation is perfect for me in the summer and it also contains SPF 20 which is a great bonus, although not for taking photos as it gives you a ghostly look! The foundation claims to go from a cream foundation to a liquid one and then it sets to a powder finish. What I was intrigued about was the 'liqueifying screen'  It has a mesh sort of screen on top of the foundation and you press your sponge (included) into it and then apply to the face. I think the sponge is rubbish so I binned it and I use my fingers (clean, of course) and apply it to my face and then buff it in with a Real Technqiues Buffing brush. I really dislike the packaging of this product. It is very big and ugly, and I would have much preferred it to be in a small jar. The foundation does say it gives complete coverage but I find this to be incorrect. It gives light to medium coverage and I wouldn't build upon it as it can make your skin look dry. What I do love about this foundation is it is just so effortless. It blends very well and is a lovely shade too. This is great for people with minor redness who just need to even out their skin a little. I also think it would work best for people with normal-dry skin.

Coverage: light-medium
Lasting power: average
Price: £6.99-£12.99

7. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick
Shade: 120

This foundation stick claims to have an anti-shine core. It says it is ultra-light and enriched with powders to instantly absorb excess oil and controls shine for a natural looking, flawless finish. I do not have oily skin but i was intrigued with this style of a foundation. I have never come across a foundation in stick form before so I had to get it. This shade is a very light shade and I initially purchased it as I thought it would be great for highlighting, but it blends in perfectly with my skin and does not look light at all. I find with the 'Fit Me' products that many of the shades match your skin tone perfectly. You do not get a ton of product in the tube but you do not need to use a lot of product to build up coverage so it could definitely last you a few months. This foundation is unbelievably creamy. It blends into the skin like a dream and looks very flawless. This foundation leaves you with a naturally radiant look, which I find is common with the Fit Me range.

Coverage: medium-full
Lasting power: all day
Price: £8.99

8. Avon Ideal Flawless Invisible Coverage Foundation
Shade: Medium Wheat

This was my favourite foundation for a very long time until I finally decided to try out new ones, and it was my favourite for very good reason. This is a very full coverage foundation that l;eaves your skin looking extremely flawless. This is an oil free foundation and it comes in a huge variety of shades. The packaging of this foundation is very nice. It comes in a sleek glass bottle with a black cap and looks very similar to my Elf Flawless Finish foundation bottle. The texture of the foundation is very smooth and moisturising. It blends effortlessly into the skin and does not look cakey at all, even though it has such amazing coverage. You can purchase this foundation from Avon's online website or from your local Avon representative. What is great about this foundation is it caters for all skin tones, and I think that more make up brand should cater for people with darker skin tones.

Coverage: full
Lasting power: all day
Price: £12

That concludes my top 8 favourite foundations from the drugstore and I hope that this post has been helpful for you. Let me know in the comments section below what your favourite foundation is and why. If you are not already, follow my Instagram: @mydailymani to keep up to date with my blog posts.

Boxing Day/January Sales Haul

Haul Time!

Hey Guys! So I have decided to do my very first haul blog post. I absolutely love seeing haul posts and YouTube videos and I'm sure many others do too. This is a haul of all the things I purchased in the boxing day and January sales. I haven't got so much to show as I went shopping twice before in December and bought a lot of winter clothes then too. I'm not going to include these in this haul post as it would take forever.

The sales this year let me down a little and I didn't really like much in stores. As I had already been shopping twice before in December I pretty much bought everything I wanted already.

I'll start with what I received today from H&M. I ordered this over a week ago and it finally arrived. I think it took longer than usual because they do have a great sale on and everyone must be ordering! LOL.
Since November I have purchased 9 pairs of ankle boots and now I have another paid to add to my huge collection. I really like these ones from h&m. They were reduced to £17 in the sale and I think they look really stylish. My only problem is they look pretty big, so I will have to see if they fit me :( O also bought a pair of burgundy jersey leggings with leather panels. These were reduced to £7. These are so nice! I love them and burgundy has been my favourite colour this season. If you look in my cupboard all you will see is burgundy, black and gold. *shy face*
I also purchased a pair of super stretch trousers in a dark green which were also £7 and a pair of Cargo denim blue jeans which were reduced to £10.

These are all the shoes I have got recently. The two flat shoes and boots with studs on were purchased by my mum. I don't know the prices of these, but I am sure you can find them in New Look. I rarely wear flats like these as I think I have grown out of the style, but I am thankful that my mum purchased them for me.
The knee high ankle boots are my favourites out of all the boots. I have wanted a pair of knee high boots for so long but always felt they would look silly as I am quite short. I really love these though and I'm so glad I purchased them. The boots were reduced to £20 and I purchased them from Jeff Bains.

These are some of the beauty and fashion products I have recently got. The porefessional set and the No7 products were a gift but I anted to include them in as I am sooo happy with them. I found the lipstick (top right) in H&M for £3.99 and it is matte! It is a gorgeous hot pink colour, which is very similiar to Mac's Candy Yum Yum. It is such a bargain and their are a few other colours so I definitely recommend you check them out. In the last picture, It is a necklace which I purchased from H&M. You cannot see it too well but I have been loving it since I purchased it. It was £7.99

These are some of the clothing pieces I picked up from H&M. None of these were in the sale though which I was sad about, but they H&M sale in store is never that good and the clothes are always the same old rubbish I do not like.

If you follow my Instagram (@mydailymani) you will know how much I love ELF products. They had an offer on and if you purchased their sale items you would only need to spend £15 to get free shipping. I decided to take up the offer and pick up a few bits and pieces. I really like the ELF eye shadow quads and they were reduced to 75p so I purchased a few. Their single glitter eye shadows were also reduced to £1.25 but I am dissappointed in these as they are basically rubbish and do not show up at all. I also picked up one of their new moisture lipsticks and a few other bits.

Recently I have began to shop in Primark, I never used to shop there as I just hated the atmosphere but I went in one day after watching haul videos on YouTube and I was so impressed with their clothes. I have been in plenty of times after and always manage to spend so much. You think because it's Primark that it is so cheap, and then I get to the checkout and feel like crying when putting my card into the machine. LOL.

These are some of the bits I managed to pick up in the sale. Everything here is £10 or under! I was so impressed with the quality and style of the clothes and they were such a good price! I really love stylish but casual clothes like these as they are perfect for uni to wear with a pair of ankle boots and jeans or leggings depending on how long the top is.

These are just some random finds from Select and Internacionale. They are also affordbale stores that sometimes stock very nice clothes. Everything in the picture below is less than £15 each. I do't remember exact prices but they still have them so you can check them out.

From a discounted beauty website, Fragrance Direct, I picked up quite a few lip products. (minus the H&M lipstick). These were all under £3 so I could not pass them up. I collect lip products and Ihave way too many, but I cannot stop myself. Especially when they are such a bargain! ;)

I also made an order on the Topshop website but it has not arrived yet and I wanted to show you because I absolutely love them and they were SUCH a good deal! The shoes were reduced to just £7 each! They will be perfect for when the weather gets better and they still have quite a few sizes left in stock so check them out!!

Thank you for taking time to read this, let me know in the comment section below what you picked up in the boxing day sales.

Take care, xxxxxx

Top 13 Of 2013

My Top 13 Of 2013

Hey Guys! I know it's days into 2014 but I thought this was a great blog post to do! In this post I will tell you my thirteen favourite products from 2013. I recommend all of these products and they are all my holy grail so I wanted to share them with you all too! :)

My number one favourite beauty product this year has definitely been the Porefessional by Benefit. It is such an amazing product and I seriously recommend it to everyone of all ages. It is a balm that reduces the look of pores and can be used under or over your foundation. I have larger pores on my cheeks and that is the only "problem" with my skin, so I was obviously super happy and impressed when I discovered this product. I was using the travel size version for a few months as I only need the tiniest bit for the small patch on both cheeks where the pores are. The porefessional costs £24.50 and can be purchased from any Benefit counter or online.

Another favourite of mine has been matte lip creams. They are so effortless and they look so good on. I have many lip creams from a variety of brands and I have found they all work pretty much the same. My favourite one out of all the ones I have has to be Amsterdam (pictured below). It is a gorgeous red colour than can be applied lightly or can be built up so it is very opaque.

Soft and Gentle by MAC is my all time favourite highlighter. It looks so beautiful on all skin tones and really gives your skin a gorgeous glowy look. I only discovered this product this year but it has been one of my favourites ever since.

I was given this Rose Salve from a friend in Canada when we did a swap together and I have been in love with it ever since! I am not sure if it is available in stores in the UK but you can definitely get it off Amazon. It is a multi purpose balm that really moisturises the skin. I use this for my lips every night and when I wake up my lips still feel so lovely and smooth. It is perfect for winter as that is when lips tend to get overly dry.

MUA has really impressed me this year. I love most of their products and they are super cheap you just cannot go wrong with them. This particular product is their lip liner in the shade 'Brooding Plum'. It is a lovely red colour and even looks great without a lipstick on top. This lip liner is very pigmented and very comparable to ones from MAC.

I have loved these Bourjois blushes ever since I was 14 and always repurchase them in different shades. This one has been a particular favourite of mine for the past couple of months and I keep it in my every day make up bag.

This may be a huge shock to everyone, but before I discovered this mascara I did not care about how long or thick my eye lashes looked at all. I would always use great mascaras but would never spend time on my lashes and would only ever use a tiny bit. Then I started to watch YouTube videos with everyone raving about how amazing the Rocket mascara by Maybelline is so I had to try it out. It makes my lashes look so long and thick and I am in love with it! Now I actually spend time making my lashes look good!

I discovered this foundation and BB cream brush a few months ago and I seriously love it and recommend it to everyone. This costs £5.99 and it is definitely one of the best brushes on the market. It blends my foundation in effortlessly and always gives me a flawless finish.

As I mentioned earlier, I have been super impressed with MUA lately and this palette is one of my favourites. It is the Heaven and Earth palette which is very comparable to Urban Decay's naked 1 and 2 palettes. I love this palette as it is so easy to use and the colours are all pigmented. This only costs £4 so it is such a bargain!

Hoola by Benefit is a blogger fave and I can understand why! It is the most perfect bronzer to contour with and it does not make me look orange at all. You get a lot of product and a very good brush to which can help you contour. This costs £23.50 and I definitely recommend it as it will last you ages and it is definitely the best bronzer out there!

This Beauty Uk brow kit is perfection. It only cost me £4! I thought it would just be okay as it was so cheap but I was so wrong! It works so good and is definitely comparable to the HD Brows Kit. It contains 3 brow powders, a gel, tweezers and a small brush.

If you follow me on Instagram you will know how much I love this foundation. It is my holy grail product and I think I will have to keep repurchasing this as I am literally hooked. I am in the shade sand which is the perfect match for my skin tone. This foundation makes my skin look absolutely flawless. It works so well and blends so effortlessly. This foundation costs around £7 and can be purchased from the eyeslipsface Website.

My favourite lipstick at the moment is Rebel by MAC. It is such a beautiful colour and if you do not own it, you should run to MAC now and purchase it! It looks beautiful on all skin tones and is perfect for this season. It looks like a very scary colour in the tube, but on the lips it is more pinky so not too scary. It is my absolute favourite lipstick and I am surprised I did not purchase it years ago!

Thank you for taking time out to read this! I would love to know your favourite products so comment below what they are!
