Make Up Revolution Haul

Make Up Revolution Haul

Recently I discovered this new brand Make Up Revolution and I had to have their products! They are a discounted make up line but they have a very wide range of products. I placed an order almost immediately and I can honestly say I am very impressed.
Their make up is so pigmented and the quality is very impressive. This brand reminds me very much of MUA which is another discounted make up brand but in all honesty I prefer Make Up Revolution. MUR have a huge selection of products to choose from and have everything from palettes to baked blushes

First of are there lipsticks. They have a very wide selection of lipstick shades available and here are just a few of the ones I have. They also have different collections that you can choose from. All the lipsticks have names which I personally love and the lipsticks are all very creamy and pigmented.

From left to right: Dazzle, Enchant, Luscious, Bliss, Beloved, Dare, Divine

Next up is their lip lacquer. This is an intensely pigmented gloss with a very long staying power. This is so pigmented that it is actually hard to take off! It is mega bright and is definitely a show stopping colour! I recommend everyone to get their hands on one of these as I promise you will be hooked.

I picked up one of their 12 pan eye shadow palettes also. I am very impressed with this palette and would say it is a lovely dupe for the Naked 3 palette. The colours are all very pigmented and pretty.

Lastly is their blushes and single shadow. I am very impressed with the pigmentation of their blushes and you seriously only need the tiniest amount. I also love the single shadow and have used it as a cheek highlighter. It is the perfect cheek highlight for people with fairer skin tones.

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you check out these products!

Not sponsored, all opinions are my own, I paid for all of this myself

Get The Look

Make Up Look

Hey guys! I thought I would do something completely different on the blog today! It is a very simple make up look that I wore not long ago when I went shopping in Leicester with my friends. This is a make up look that is very easy to achieve but looks very classic and pretty. I am not a pro at applying make up nor do I think I am good at it... I just thought it would be fun to do :')
Hope you guys like it! Let me know what you think!!

Start off with a primer, the one I like to use is the Benefit Porefessional. I use it only on my cheeks on the sides of my nose as this is where I have larger pores.

Then I use a damp beauty blender sponge to apply my foundation. I dot a little bit of foundation on my forehead, cheeks, chin and nose and then blend it in. I don't like to use a concealer always as sometimes they can make under eye circles look worse then they are. If you want to use a concealer, do this step next.

After my foundation I use a powder but only very lightly and then spray my face with Mac's fix plus. This is perfect for fixing the foundation and taking away any cakeyness.

Next I like to fill in my brows. You can use whatever you feel is best for you. There are many options to choose from. You can use powders, pencils or even gel based formulas. If you don't need to fill in your brows then of course leave this step out. For this particular look I used an angled brush and a powder to fill in my brows. I did not change the shape of them, I just made them darker.

After this I like to apply my blush and bronzer. You can use any shimmery bronzer for this look as we are going for a lovely summery bronzed look. Choose a bronze that works best for you. If you are fair skinned don't choose something that is too dark and vice versa. I don't apply my bronzer to contour, but if you want to do this, that is absolutely fine.

After the bronzer I use a blush on the apples of my cheeks. I smile and then apply the blush as it helps me apply it in the right place. I prefer using a light pink blush with this look as we already have the bronzer so don't want too much going on. Light pink blushes look very natural and give you a nice flushed appearance. You can also use a rose gold blush as this also works very well with the bronze.

After your blush apply a little bit of highlight to the tops of your cheekbones. I only apply my highlight to this area but if you like to look very shimmery and bronze, you can apply elsewhere too.

After this it is time to do your eyes!

Line your top lash line with your choice of a liner. You can use a gel or liquid liner for this. Make sure it is very black and bright as we aren't using eye shadow for this look.

Next coat your lashes in your favourite mascara! You can have as much or as little volume as you like... it is totally up you.

Finish off with a red lipstick. A true red works best for this look as it is the star of the look. The red lips are what you want noticed first so choose one that suits your skin tone best. My personal favourite that I think suits all skin tones is Mac's Riri Woo and Ruby Woo. They are perfect red colours and really look good on anyone!

I hope you enjoyed this and if you did please share and comment

What's In My Make Up Bag

What do I carry in my handbag's make up bag?

I don't carry a huge variety of make up in my make up bag but I do like to carry some make up with me if I am going out for more than a few hours.

I don't ever touch up my base make up and that is why you will not see these products mentioned. My base tends to last me all day so there in no point in me taking unnecessary products out with me. I also think if you reapply powder and foundation throughout the day without washing your face, you will be more prone to acne because it isn't the most hygienic.
As you can see I carry a lot of lip products with me and that is because I always love changing up my lip product and I like to have a nice variety. At different times of the day I might want a different look so I choose a variety of shades.

The first lip product is a matte lip cream by NYX in the shade San Paulo. This is a gorgeous matte pink colour and it is so effortless to apply so it is perfect when I don't have a mirror handy or am in a rush and need to quickly apply something. These lip creams cost £5 and can be purchased from the NYX website. I definitely recommend these. They are non drying and there is a huge range of shades to choose from.

The second lip product is the Wet n Wild matte lipstick in Sugarplum Fairy. This is a very popular product and is a dupe for MAC's Rebel. This is the most perfect lipstick ever and one I cannot live without. I actually prefer it to Rebel as it is more vibrant and it is matte. Matte is my favourite type of lipstick. These lipsticks retail for around £2.75 and can only be found in the US.

The third is a matte lipstick from H&M. It is a gorgeous bright pink shade which is great for this season. It is pretty similar to MAC's Candy Yum Yum also. I like to carry the dupes with me as opposed to the real deal as if they get lost I won't mind too much. This lipstick is VERY drying but for £3.99 I can't really complain. There are 2 or 3 other shades but I think this is the best one they do.

Next is a lip balm by Madre Bees. I think everyone needs to carry a lip balm with them as it is an essential. I don't think I need to write an explanation about this product.  It isn't the most moisturising, it's just okay :)

The last lip product I carry with me is MAC's Speak Louder. This is the first MAC lipstick I ever purchased and surprisingly it is not that popular even though it is such a gorgeous pink colour. i really like this lipstick and although I do not use it much anymore it used to be a staple in my make up kit and I am almost out of it so will need another very soon!

Finally not a lip product! I like to carry the ELF blush and bronzer duo with me as I have been loving the bronzed up look this season and when I mix the two colours together it creates a very nice shade. It's a lot easier to have one product in my bag rather than two separate ones so I like to carry this duo with me.
To apply the blush and bronzer I take the ELF angled blush brush with me. I| like to carry this as my make up brushes tend to get ruined in my make up nag (No idea how) so I won't worry too much if this gets ruined as it was only £1.50.

Thank you for reading, let me know what you carry in your make up bag!

Take care xxxx

Make up setting sprays and facial mists

The battle of the make up setting sprays/ Facial mists

Urban Decay Oil control setting spray:
This spray is a very light and weightless one and almost feels as though nothing is going on your face. Because of this I always tend to over spray and then look in the mirror like"CRAP!". Nevertheless, this spray lasts! It will keep your make up looking like you have just applied it all day and also feels very cool and nice on the skin. This product comes with two lids and I am unsure why this is? I guess one is to stop bacteria getting in and the outer one is to make the packaging look good. You should apply this product before your setting spray. It is not a magical product that takes away shine, it is just there to work with your make up.

ELF make up setting spray:
This is the most affordable option for a setting spray and the one I have been using every day. I never touch up my foundation and when I come home after a long day it is all still intact. This product definitely works, and although it soaks your face, it is one I definitely recommend.

The Body Shop Vitamin E face mist:
This is a product that will help set your make up but can also be used throughout the day as an instant pick me up. It really refreshes and hydrates the skin and has a lovely rose scent. It has a very light mist and helps lock in moisture too. This is perfect to use in the summer as it will really cool you down.

Ben Nye Final Seal Matte Sealer (water resistent, professional) Spray:
This product is actually amazing! Your make up will not budge with this product. It is literally hairspray for your face. Do you ever get foundation on your shirts? Well this will definitely stop that. It is an excellent product and I really recommend it.

Mac Fix Plus:
There is a lot of confusion about this product. Many people think it is a setting spray and then hate it because it doesn't keep their make up on. If you read the name properly you will see that it only 'fixes' your make up and does not set it. This will take away any cakiness from your make up and will leave you looking like you just applied your make up. This is also very refreshing and if I ever feel hot I will spray this on my face as it really helps.

Lush Breath Of Fresh Air:
This is another product that will really refresh your skin throughout the day. I bring this product out with me in the summer and it definitely helps me. It does not set your make up, it just refreshes the skin. The downside to this product is your face will be VERY wet after using this which is annoying.

MUA Pro Base Fixing Mist:
This product is definitely a dupe for the Urban Decay one. They both have the same mist and both keep your make up on all day. This costs a fraction of the price so I obviously recommend this one more.

Nyx Setting Spray:
This setting spray is a lot harder to find if you are from the UK like me, but if you do happen to find it, it is definitely one to pick up. It costs £8 so is a very good price and it really makes your make up last long. It isn't too light and isn't too 'wet' so has the perfect amount of mist to it. I love how this sprays as it covers the whole face and I don't have to use a lot of product, unlike the Mac fix plus.

COLLECTION Fix Me Up Long Lasting Make-up Fixer:
This is another alternative to the many setting sprays I have spoken about today, and I have tried and tested... And yes! It works. It is a very small bottle so is perfect for taking out with you in your handbag and it definitely helps to keep your make up on longer.

There are MANY more setting sprays out there on the market... So go wild and find one that's perfect for you.
